Anyways, first what you do is make a bunch of pieces like this:
It's actually 30 pieces. Each piece can anywhere from 30 seconds to 4 minutes. It all depends how you want the final piece to look. Some people are impatient and really rush these pieces and I think it makes it much more difficult later on during the assembly, and furthermore resulting in a horribly ugly looking piece. It doesn't look clean at all.
Anyway, then you take each piece and you fit them into each other. Reminder, there is NO GLUE that is used here. All paper.
LAST, after you complete them, you can get a general idea. It's supposed to be all spikey, but again...because it's paper and I'm so used to folding roses, it's fun to mess around and curl the edges to make them look more abstract.

I made another cool looking piece in the back there as you can see.
